Our experience with Arthur began over a year ago, when he was referred to us by a trusted real estate agent in southern California. Initially we were unsure about selling our property due to the economy, but I asked Arthur to keep in touch. He was excellent about doing this, and over the course of the year, contacted us every so often, providing comps for the area, and even advising me not to sell when he felt it would be a big loss. When the opportunity to sell in a temporary local inflation presented itself, Arthur was quick on the draw, and assisted us in a strategy to remodel and thus reprice the property. We ultimately listed it for far more than we expected, and received an offer greater than list. Throughout the year of contact, and especially during the listing process, Arthur was informed, communicative, and held our best interests to heart, even during the escrow process in-sale. He finds a passionate interest in the welfare of his clients, and takes a personal advocacy in his methods. He is professional, patient, and polite, even under the most precarious of time frames. His attention to detail is impeccable, and his work ethic is honest. It is too bad he won't relocate his business to southern California, because it would be a pleasure to do business again with him in the future. When I thought about a letter for Arthur I decided to look the definition of
real estate agent in the dictionary. The above definition only half describes
Arthur. There are few words missing to describe him as our agent. Honest,
patient, unique, knowledgeable, and friend are just a few of the extra words
that aren’t normally found or associated with an agent.
Moving to NC was something we thought about for years and last summer I got a
job at UNC Healthcare and here we are. Arthur was recommended to me by a
coworker in PA and from our first meeting last summer he was someone who I knew
we could trust. Not knowing where to live in the area Arthur showed us rental
properties from Cary and Apex to Hillsborough. Our first trip to NC was
unsuccessful in finding a place and with time closing fast to my start date in
Sept I called Arthur in a panic. I finally found an apt complex that had short
term rentals but was unsure of the area. Arthur drove around the complex and
called me to let me know that he would feel safe allowing his family to live
here without problem. That may be normal here in NC but in PA I would be
laughed at by any agent if I asked them to do that.

The next few months were spent with my husband traveling from PA to NC every
other weekend. Although house hunting was put on hold as we were getting
accustomed to our new environment Arthur would call us at least once every month
to see how things were going and letting us know he was there if we needed
anything. The holidays came and went and the house hunt began. From start to
finish we must have looked at at least 50 houses. He showed us homes before our
house in PA sold to help us get a feel for the market in the area which was a
huge help. He was understanding with our ever changing school district
changes. Arthur was very patient with us, even if we didn’t always follow the
normal way of doing things. Text messages between Steve and Arthur were not
only informative but comical and always brightened our day when things just
seemed to be not happening. Our home in PA sold in March and the real hunt
began. Arthur was very diligent in making sure all of the normal real estate
agent things happen without trouble. He knew all the right people to contact
with each issue and always got back with us in a timely manner. I often wondered
if the man slept.

In February of this year we found the perfect house. From offer to counter
offer to acceptance to home inspection Arthur was there every step of the way.
It was truely a comfort knowing that someone with his qualifications and
compassion had our backs. When we finally closed in May of this year it was a
huge weight off our shoulders. I can honestly say that Arthur Cummings was not
only our real estate agent but one of first friends here in NC. I highly
recommend him to anyone who is even thinking of buying or selling a home.

Arthur Cummings, Jr. is both my realtor and my friend. I met Arthur in 2000 when he helped with the purchase of a townhome in the South East quadrant of the Las Vegas Valley. His assistance was invaluable in the rapid process to closing. With that purchase, Arthur became a family treasure. He has also, helped two other members of my family purchase homes in the Las Vegas Valley. Since, he has become a friend, whom we have seen socially.
